Trump was in the Deep South yesterday talking up his NAFTA reboot (more car production to be sourced in North American factories) and bashing Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford.
Today Trump's UK counterpart, PM Theresa May, doubled down on "Chequers" Brexit at the Conservative Party conference. Boris Johnson, who had preceded May at the conference, warned that "Chequers is a cheat." A pro-Johnson Tory back-bencher has submitted a no confidence letter.
How is that we have ended up pinned for years under the weight of these flesh-eating zombies? Nothing new is ever brought forth other than another war. Give Trump credit for tweaking/re-branding NAFTA ("USMCA"). He knows how to play the zombie politics game.
We are frozen in the neoliberal/neoconservative paradigm, a societal stasis of 40 years that is devouring everything -- the planet, the life on that planet, and any human culture not riven with commercialism.
