"Santa Fe' Blues"

I'm enjoying The Best of Jimmy Yancey this Veterans Day holiday. Yancey was a boogie-woogie pianist and composer who never left his day job as a groundskeeper for the Chicago White Sox.

His wife Estelle, a.k.a., Mama Yancey, sings on quite a few tracks. "Santa Fe' Blues" (above) is a good example of the sonic elixir produced by the duo.
