Winter Soldier #1 + Winter Soldier #6

Issues of Winter Soldier have been stacking up in my bachelor pad for many months. Last weekend I finally got to dig in. And I was not disappointed. Writer Ed Brubaker, the guy responsible for bringing Bucky Barnes back to life, is a master of the cliffhanger. He manages to end each issue with the reader asking "What happens next?" No small feat.

I've read to Winter Soldier #8. Butch Guice provided the pencils and a share of inks in the first five issues. Michael Lark took over the penciling in Winter Soldier #6. Bettie Breitweiser was the colorist throughout.

The storyline has to do with Buck Barnes and Natasha Romanoff tracking down long-dormant Soviet sleeper assassin agents trained by the Winter Soldier when he was working for the communists.

The comic book has a dark, spymaster vibe. Below you'll find four scans. The first two pages are from Winter Soldier #1. The art is Butch Guice's. The third and fourth scans, which I really like, are from Winter Soldier #6. Michael Lark, penciler; Stefano Gaudiano with Brian Thies, inkers. Bettie Breitweiser doing all the colors.
