Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Dream" + The Chemical Brothers' "Dream On"

A high point in Hippie pretentiousness is Mahavishnu Orchestra, but the band produced some great music. My favorite album is The Lost Trident Sessions, which wasn't  released until 26 years after it was recorded in 1973. Acrimony between Jan Hammer, Jerry Goodman and John McLaughlin during these sessions would lead to the dissolution of the original lineup. Check out Billy Cobham's drums on "Dream":


I enjoyed "Dream" on the backstretch of tonight's run. It was followed by The Chemical Brothers' "Dream On," the last track off their monster 1999 album Surrender:
